Priority: Enhance our pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure for safety and accessibility.

 

My husband and I ride our bikes nearly every day.  As an avid outdoor enthusiast, cyclist, and Swamp Rabbit Trail user, I am committed to improving the Travelers Rest's walking, running and bicycle infrastructure so that residents and visitors can easily and safely reach and enjoy the great amenities, retailers, restaurants, and services that exist across our city – from their neighborhoods - in whatever mode of transportation they choose. This could mean paying more attention to traffic signals, lighting, buffers, crosswalks, traffic calming measures, parking – all of it.

I have worked as an Election Poll Manager for quite a number of years and for various elections including primaries and generals, and for local, state, and national elections.  The voting precinct is truly one of my favorite places to be on election day not only because I love to vote, but also because I enjoy watching citizens exercise their fundamental right to make their voices heard.  Sadly, voter turnout is never what it should or could be. Voters sometimes overlook l ocal elections because they don't realize how important they are. The outcome of local elections can have the biggest impact on our daily lives because the candidates who win their municipal elections are the ones who will make decisions on public safety, infrastructure, and zoning.
